We took advantage of a bit of sunshine to drive up to the Plegersee for lunch. Plegersee lies about 1.2 miles above Garmisch, up a winding road wide enough for one-way traffic, but which carries two-way traffic. The road was beautifully cleared of snow and ice.

Once again, Ron was disappointed that gulash suppe was not on the menu, but he enjoyed a hearty dish of bratwurst, while I was happy to find chicken breast with noodles. What is going on in Bayern when not every lokal offers gulash suppe?
From there we did some errands and then drove to the Almhuette on the Kramer Plateau Weg. They are known for their enormous "windbeutel" (cream puffs).

We shared the windbeutel and still did not finish it. This was accompanied by a gluhwein for Ron and a Russian hot chocolate (rum and whipped cream added) for me.
This did us in and we felt like a nap, especially since it was already beginning to get dark before 5 PM! But, when we got back to the apartment we had a lot of work to do.
That evening we went to the Hotel Zugspitze (on Klammstrasse) to sit by the fireplace and listen to the live music. It was fun to watch people up dancing, especially one lady in purple with a white hat putting on a show.
I had a cute video of the dancing to "Rock Around the Clock", but having a problem uploading it. So, that's it for today. Our time in Garmisch is growing short.
