We left the Grosser Wirt on a gray, drizzly day. Luckily, the temps were above freezing, so driving wasn't a problem. We passed through Bad Tolz and into Garmisch. We continued about 45-minutes beyond, a detour for a nice lunch at the Hotel Post in Lermoos Austria (one of our favorite places).
We then went back to Garmisch and moved into our home for the next week - Apartment Partnach in Haus Hausler. The husband, Michael, greeted us, and he and the teenage kids helped us up the one flight of stairs with luggage. We have been here so many times it does feel like "home". Many memories! It is the most comfortable spot for such a reasonable price - we seem to return time and again.
That evening we went to Colosseo for dinner. It is a nice Italian restaurant located atop a grocery store. It was very busy, and we had to wait about 15-minutes for a table. Ron had a great thin-crust pizza and I had penne gorgonzola (which was not as good as our friend, Pat, makes).
The evening ended with a trip to the small Casino. We had some fun at the machines, but no significant wins! Some lucky soul hit a jackpot, and it appeared the casino employees were counting out hundreds of Euros to him.
